GCC and Türkiye Credit Themes: WIEFF at Moody’s Ratings

On 30 June 2026, WIEFF joined Moody’s Ratings in London for a briefing on the key credit themes and risks shaping the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Türkiye.

The session explored an evolving macroeconomic and credit environment, with discussion spanning sovereign resilience, banking-sector performance, corporate credit fundamentals and the outlook for Islamic finance. These subjects are increasingly interconnected as financial institutions and investors respond to geopolitical uncertainty, changing policy priorities and shifting interest-rate conditions.

The briefing gave WIEFF participants an opportunity to hear directly from Moody’s analysts and consider how regional developments may affect markets, institutions and responsible long-term decision-making. It also continued WIEFF’s commitment to connecting its network with timely research and specialist perspectives across conventional, Islamic and ethical finance.

WIEFF thanks Nitish Bhojnagarwala for hosting, Florence Henderson for her continued support, and the Moody’s Ratings team for an engaging and informative morning. We look forward to continuing the conversation as these themes develop.
